Curbside Green Waste Collection
Date: May 4 – 15
Mark your calendars, from May 4th through May 15th, City of Albuquerque residents will have two opportunities to set out their green waste for curbside pickup. Now’s the time to get out in your yard, rake up those leaves, and gather your grass clippings, weeds, and branches.
You’ll have two collection chances during the first two weeks of May. 
Be sure to follow the green waste guidelines below so your materials can be collected — and remember, green waste should never go in your recycling cart!

Green Waste Collection Event Tips
During collection events, please follow these guidelines:
- Green Waste must be 5 feet away from trash/recycling containers.
- Green Waste including leaves, grass, and brush must be placed in trash bags.
- Trash bags must not weigh more than 40 lbs.
- Cut branches to four-foot lengths and bundle them securely.
- Dirt, debris, gravel, construction material or tree stumps will not be picked up.
- Do not place green waste in your recycling cart.
Car Show
Date: Date TBD
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: McLeod Family YMCA, 12500 Comanche Rd NE (South side of Comanche about 2 blocks west of Tramway)
Join your neighbors and other participants from around Albuquerque to look at some classic, original and modified vehicles. This is a free event for those showing their cars and those looking at the cars.
The Neighborhood Association will provide snacks and refreshments.
SHOW UP AT THE EVENT WITH YOUR RIDE, NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT!
National Night Out Ice Cream Social
Date: TBD
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Casa Grande Linear Park, (South side of Comanche on the grassy area)
Meet your neighbors, local first responders, and city officials during this nationwide event promoting community safety and connection. Ice cream, activities, and good company will be provided by our Neighborhood Association. Consider bringing a picnic dinner for you and your family to enjoy during this event!
Comanche Foothills NA Annual Meeting
Date: TBD
Time: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Where: Holiday Park Community Center, 11710 Comanche Rd NE
This is the association’s annual meeting and your chance to share any ideas or concerns you have regarding our neighborhood.
Get involved and stay informed! Join us for a ‘community conversation’ around opportunities for improvement and involvement. Discuss community updates, future plans, ways to participate and more!
Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Fall Neighborhood Cleanup
Date: TBD
Time: 10:00 am to Noon
Where: Meet at the Candelaria side of Casa Grande Linear Park.
Join us in sprucing up the neighborhood just in time for Balloon Fiesta!
The City of Albuquerque generously provides trash grabbers, trash bags, and gloves. CABQ Solid Waste then picks up any trash we collect during our cleanup making this an easy and effective way for us to keep our neighborhood sparkling!
